An inspiring true story and intercultural adventure

Four strangers from three countries – with barely a common language between them – decide to adopt each other as family and take on the world.

Laura

Hi, I’m Laura Maya.

I’m a writer, coach and culturally curious ‘nomad’.

For more than 20 years, I’ve travelled slowly through over 60 countries with no fixed address.

I’ve learnt 4 languages, worked in 40+ businesses (including some of my own!) and I’ve explored a lot of different careers along the way. I don’t believe we all have a purpose or one true calling.

I’m the author of Tell Them My Name, co-author of This I Know Is True and curator of GPS for the Soul.

As a certified BYCA coach, I help women bring their lives into balance, gently chase their dreams and get some much needed rest… (nanna naps and lazy Sundays for the win!)

I usually live in a van or out of a backpack, often in Australia, France, Nepal or Tonga and I try to explore everywhere in between.

I’d love to connect with you and hope you can come along for the ride!

Thank you for being here

Does any of this sound like you? I still have no idea what I want to be when I grow up... I can’t seem to stick with anything for the long haul... I’m a Jack of all Trades, master of none... I often don’t finish the things I start... I lose interest in things I...

Why I Don’t Have A Purpose

Welcome to the Magic of Everything — a love letter to all my failures and a celebration of everything that’s wrong with me.  Because for most of my life I knew there must be something seriously wrong with me. I just didn't know how to "do" life like everyone else. ...

Kind Words

“Laura was the first person to open my eyes to a different way of living and working and I have been able to create my own successful online business and nomadic life through following her guidance and example.

If you want to get real-world, practical advice from someone who lives and breathes the nomadic lifestyle and genuinely cares about the cultures, countries and people she interacts with, then look no further. I cannot recommend Laura’s book and coaching services highly enough.”
