An inspiring true story and intercultural adventure

Four strangers from three countries – with barely a common language between them – decide to adopt each other as family and take on the world.

Laura

Hi, I’m Laura Maya.

I’m a writer, coach and culturally curious ‘digital nomad’.

For more than 20 years, I’ve travelled slowly through almost 60 countries with no fixed address.

I’ve learnt 4 languages, worked in 40+ businesses before starting my own and I’ve explored a lot of different careers along the way. I don’t believe I have a purpose or one true calling.

I’m the author of Tell Them My Name, co-author of This I Know Is True and curator of GPS for the Soul.

As a certified BYCA coach,  I help women chase their ‘impossible’ dreams, navigate change and step into a life they love (even if it’s a life others may not understand!)

I live in a bus or out of a backpack, usually in Australia, France, Nepal, Tonga or anywhere in between, and I run an online business which travels with me around the world.

I’d love to connect with you and hope you can come along for the ride!

Thank you for being here

The World Is A Nice Place

Last week I spent one glorious day “solving all the problems of the world” with one of my soul friends (you know those friends for whom the term ‘friend’ is grossly inadequate because every time you catch up, you save each other’s lives a little bit?) We had a long...

What Next? My First Blog Post In 2 Years

Last month, my biggest, lifelong dream came true.  My first book, Tell Them My Name, was released by Aussie publishing house, the Kind Press.  I’ve honestly been waiting for this day since I was a toothless, pig-tailed six year old geeking out in the school library… ...

How Three Years On An Island Prepared Me For Life After A Pandemic

Life has changed again...   When I wrote my last blog post called Everything Has Changed, I had no idea what was around the corner. At the time, we’d just moved away from our sleepy Tongan island and returned to fast paced Australia to try out a whole new way of...

Kind Words

“Laura was the first person to open my eyes to a different way of living and working and I have been able to create my own successful online business and nomadic life through following her guidance and example.

If you want to get real-world, practical advice from someone who lives and breathes the nomadic lifestyle and genuinely cares about the cultures, countries and people she interacts with, then look no further. I cannot recommend Laura’s book and coaching services highly enough.”
